Thacker Equine evolved out of the love of horses paired with a desire to produce the best possible equine athletes.  My horse influences started with lessons at a local Arabian horse farm in Walnut, IL by the name of Atherton Arabians.  The owner of Atherton Arabians, Jeanne Atherton, instilled upon me the desirable attributes of not just a good Arabian but attributes of a good horse.  Jeanne had a wonderful trainer, "Sam" Laurel Bierman that taught me the ropes so to speak and enabled me to train and show to the Regional Show level.

Upon getting my drivers license, I found boys and dropped the horses like a bad habit - at least that's what my parents had wished.  All kidding aside, I continued on with my passion for horses, expanding my knowledge to jumping with lessons at Copper Bit Farm, instructed and owned by Joan Harms of Sterling, IL.  With Joan I earned the privilege to go on to Fox Hunt with Oak Brook Hounds Hunt Club where I earned my colors and met another very strong influence in my breeding decisions.  Kevin Petitgout, an accomplished event rider who owned Indian Art, an Art Deco son and from there the story goes on.........

Welcome to Thacker Equine
